Readings is an independent cultural project devoted to editorial criticism, the dissemination of literary heritage and the encounter between cultural traditions. The Reviews pages host critical analyses and in-depth content on books and literary works.
This notice describes the processing of personal data exclusively within the Reviews pages, in relation to the optional use of “Book” information buttons.

2. Scope of application
This notice applies exclusively to the Reviews pages. The Library and Periodicals Library sections, together with the other reference content of the site, do not use affiliate tools or geographic routing systems.
3. Types of data processed
Following the consent given by the user, the following categories of data may be processed:
- link interaction data (clicks on the “Book” buttons);
- approximate location data (country of origin);
- traffic source data (referrer);
- technical data relating to the device and browsing environment.
The data are processed in aggregated or pseudonymised form and are not used for individual profiling purposes.
4. Purposes of processing
- geographic routing to the most relevant book marketplace;
- aggregated statistical analysis of the use of editorial links;
- secondary support for the editorial project through book affiliation.
5. Legal basis
The legal basis for the processing is the user’s consent (Article 6(1)(a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 – GDPR). Consent is optional and may be withdrawn at any time.
6. Third parties involved
Geniuslink
The Reviews pages may use the Geniuslink service for geographic routing and technical measurement of links. Geniuslink acts as an independent data controller.

Amazon
The “Book” buttons may lead to different Amazon marketplaces depending on the user’s geographic area. Amazon always acts as an independent data controller.

7. Transfer of data outside the EU
Some technical tools used may involve the processing of data on servers located outside the European Union. Such transfers take place in compliance with the safeguards provided for by the GDPR.
8. Data retention
The data are retained for the time strictly necessary for the stated purposes and, where possible, in aggregated form.
9. User rights
The user may exercise the rights provided for in Articles 15–22 of the GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection.
10. Management and withdrawal of consent
Consent already given may be changed or withdrawn at any time through the “Manage consent preferences” link located below the information buttons on the Reviews pages.
